I have a B.A. in Literature from Southwestern University and I’ve been a paralegal, a teacher, and a rancher. Remote ranch life, and the urge to document the fading history and culture of rural Texas, have fueled my life-long desire to write. I grew up in a family involved with the criminal justice system, (parole officer, criminal justice professor, pathologist, photographer, etc.), so thinking about crime is in my blood.
I’m a member of Sisters in Crime, the Heart of Texas chapter of Sisters in Crime, and Austin Mystery Writers. I’m also an administrative assistant at Writer Unboxed and a moderator for its Facebook group.
I have short stories in the Austin Mystery Writers anthologies, Murder on Wheels (winner of the 2016 Silver Falchion Award for Best Short Fiction Anthology) and Lone Star Lawless. I’m currently working on my debut novel, Gilt Ridden. I’m also proud to have collaborated on the Writer Unboxed book, Author in Progress: A No-Holds-Barred Guide To What It Really Takes To Get Published (Writer’s Digest).
When I’m not writing, reading, I’m either substitute teaching, singing with my church choir, playing percussion in community band, making jewelry, or reading at our Texas hill country home.
